Refinishing Tables

This was a project I started back in April.  I had a couple of tables (coffee table and a end table) that were in pretty rough shape because of past roommates.  I decided to try to restore them with ideas I saw on Pinterest.  Lots of battles along the way but here is what I came out with.

So I really, really, really thought this table should be an olive green.  After discovering it looked like baby poop I finally gave up on the idea.
Sanding took a long time because of the details on the table (went a lot faster thanks to Dad and Maria), but I finally got to the fun part of painting.  My sweet boy helped with the painting process too!

The top of the table was stained with Minwax wood finish (walnut).  Once that dried I put a coat of semi-gloss finish on top.

I had read on Pinterest glaze was the thing to do!  Man is that stuff tough to work with, but it turned out beautiful.  Once you mix the glaze you add a paint color of your choice...I choose a dark brown from Valspar.  I mixed a 2:1 ratio (glaze/paint).
And after that I was pretty much hooked and been doing projects since.
