End Table Restoration

Found a new end table project.  So the original idea was to do a weathered look with the original color underneath and a cream color on top.  So there was a coat of Valspar's weathered glaze which, according to directions you are supposed to let dry for 1-3 hours.

After only waiting an hour.  We decided to try spray paint.  Either due to the heat from today or the fact that the spray paint dries quickly...or because it was mixed with primer...there was no crackling effect, we just had a white end table.
But have no fear, chalk paint saved the day.  Using French Linen from Annie Sloan...

And the before and after...
As much as I love Annie Sloan's chalk paint...it's just not practical as far as cost.  So, I'm on a mission to make my own for less with equal quality.  Excited to share more about that soon!
